Eileen flipped a page in her novel, Umbrella by Riassanna Rihae, as she did her best to concentrate on reading. But alas, it was no use. Eileen could never settle down with something anymore. Putting the heavy novel down, Eileen slid off her bed and peered out the window. She did not know why she had chosen to live out the rest of her life here, or why she had even picked such a gloomy apartment in the first place. But..since Eileen had already made her choices, she must now live them out.
Although Eileen never really once again felt comfortable living alone after all the previous incidents, today she felt especially nervous. There was something unusual today. What was that? Oh just her mechanical cat clock. Eileen walked over and looked at the thing. It was actually quite ugly. It had been a gift from her aunt a few months ago. Eileen had rejected the thing in her mind at sight, but still accepted it, knowing it was just her aunt's way of being kind.
Was that a banging sound Eileen heard? Yes. She was quite positive of it. It was coming from the front door though. So nothing strange. Eileen took a deep breath. Why was she so jumpy today? "Coming!" She shouted, hoping the person outside could hear her.
Swiftly, she left her bedroom and walked into the hallway that was connected to the door to the apartment. The entrance hall, as she so named it. Once she was close enough to the door, she tried to look through the peephole, but was disappointed to find it too dirty to see through. I'll have to clean that later." Eileen thought to herself.
Oh well. Eileen's left hand reached for the door lock. A quick push and slide unlocked the door, an then a twist and pull opened the door for Eileen.
"Yes?" She said politely, her eyes glancing up towards her visitor.
