Cecilia walked into the resturant with Walter on her hip still. She'd been murmuring and talking to him the whole way here.
Getting inside, the place was obviously abandoned. Rather dusty as well. Walking over she took a few napkins and wiped off one of the tables and a chair and let Wally sit in it. Looking around, Cecilia knew there was no one here.
She walked over to the kitchen and peeked in. Looking in the freezer, she found meat, vegtables and other foodstuffs. Apparently the resturant had been abandoned in a hurry like the rest of the town. But the appliances seemed to be in working order.
Cecilia walked back out to where the little boy was sitting and smiled at him. "Alright. Looks like I'm gonna be the cook today. Do you want a hamburger or chicken?" She smiled softly. Cecilia pointed to pictures in the menu to show him different foods they had in the back to help him decide.
Reaching into a bin of what seemed to be the equivalent of happy meal or kid's meal toys, she pulled out a handful and set them on the table, which already had a cup of crayons on it and a few paper placemats with blank backs to draw on.
"It'll only take me about ten minutes, but if you get scared, I'm right in the kitchen and you can come get me, ok?" She ran a hand through his hair and kissed the top of his head gently. She draped her purse over the back of the chair opposite little Walter.
Then she walked back through the swinging doors, grabbing one and propping it open with the doorstop so that she could see Wally from the kitchen and he could probably see her.
Something told her that if she left him for long he'd disappear... like Jeremy did...
She shook the thought from her head and began cleaning and warming the flat grill that the burger's were cooked on and began pulling out some ingredients, leafing through them to find the freshest ones.
There were actually a lot of well preserved things in the storage freezer and the refrigerators. Colas, salad stuff... a lot of it was well taken care of. It made Cecilia wonder if someone didn't keep coming back here just to fix this stuff so anyone in town could use it...
She shrugged. She'd leave a twenty when she left for use of materials. Rolling up her sleeves and washing her hands, she set to preparing something to fill her new little love's hungry spot. She hummed gently as she did.
It felt so good... so right... to finally be preparing meals and taking care of her little boy again...

Walter took the now-clean seat that Cecilia had provided to him. He had been so relaxed in her arms on the way there that he practically felt rejuvenated now. It was like he had a small 'conscious nap' of sorts. The boy's legs were too short to reach the floor so he allowed them to swing loosely just above the dusty surface below. He looked down and watched the freedom of his legs and realized for the first time just how clean the soles of his sneakers were. Despite all of the dirty areas he had wandered through they still looked new. Ah well, he didn't think much more about that.
In reply to the question of what he wanted to eat Walter just put a finger in his mouth and with his free hand pointed to a picture of a burger. It looked pretty good with all the ketchup and cheese that the photo depicted. His tummy made a faint growling noise as if it, too, could see the pictures. Then she brought him lots of toys from a bin. They were all small and very colorful; it had been a while since the boy had seen color like this. One of them was a small pink rabbit with a big smile on its face. With a tiny thumb and index finger he picked it out of the pile to get a better look. Had he seen this somewhere before?
With a light kiss on the head the woman was back behind the counter. Walter gave a single nod to her words but he didn't look up from the table. Instead he removed the finger from his mouth and retrieved a pink crayon to draw with on the blank placemat. He looked at the toy again before putting the coloring tool down on the paper. He started with the ears and moved down to the big, round head.
Every once in a while he looked up to see what Cecilia was doing. The woman had kept a door open, probably to keep an eye on him like the people at the orphanage persistently did. She would only be cooking or cleaning something every time he saw her, however, so he would just return to his drawing of the rabbit.
It was time to draw the two big teeth...

Cecilia took some french fries from the back and put them on the grill with the burgers. "It's not like frying them in the grease, but I don't wanna waste the grease either..." She looked over at the huge tub. The thing would have to be half full to even work and it had to be a ten gallon frier.
She looked through the refrigerator and found some lettuce, tomatoes and other things and set up two big trays for herself and Walter. Smiling as she did. She pulled out a couple of colas and set them on the trays. She put a small salad on hers and a cup of chopped up fruit on Wally's.
Cecilia walked out and set the food down and smiled. "Eat up, sweetheart. I found some icecream in the back so if you eat well we can have some."
She let her eyes drift out to the silent streets ang bit her lip. It was still a little ... dark in here. She looked around for a light switch and switched on the lights. She noticed a radio in the corner and smiled. "There we go. Some music will brighten up this atmosphere."
Cecilia turned on the radio and turned the dial slightly. Nothing. Dead air. "...Must be broken..." she muttered. Looking over she saw some CDs. "Here we go. Let's try this." She reached out and looked at the covers. She didn't know the names of the bands. One was a Christmas CD. One was some local band, she guessed. Another was plastered with the face of Robbie the Rabbit and said, "Robbie's Birthday Bash". It had several kid's songs on it. She raised her eyebrow, wondering how old that CD was. The final one didn't have a case. It was a homemade CD, she supposed, with a radio station written on it.
"...92.3..." she looked over and messed with the radio again to see if the station worked. No static. Nothing but dead air. She sighed and popped the CD in. "...might as well... Couldn't be as bad as Robbie's CD." She chuckled.
She stuck it in and pushed play, hoping it wasn't heavy metal.
It started playing a low drone and then it turned to a sort of mumbling or groaning like one of the monsters in town and finally droned away into what sounded like a distant siren...
Cecilia hit the off button quickly and panted and swallowed.
"...Robbie's Birthday Bash it is..." she whispered. She took out the CD with only a station on it and put in Robbie's, turning it down.
A happy tune drifted through the speakers and she sat down, smiling at Wally.
"Much better, don't you think?" She looked down at his picture. "You like Robbie? My little boy loved Robbie. He had a blue one." She smiled at him with her eyes once more foggy and distant, faintly wondering if they had a store nearby with Robbies in it.
She picked up the salt shaker and poured a couple shakes of it on her french fries, trying to relax. "Do you like it?" She asked Wally about the food.

[ OOC: I know this is way late. I've been busy with a few random stuff popping up with friends and I've also been attempting to revive an old Roleplay forum of mine.] Walter just continued his little doodle of the rabbit. He recalled being in possession of a stuffed one when he was back in the orphanage but, if he remembered correctly, the one there was pink. It wasn't really his toy, as the children had to share everything they had, but he was the one who spent the most time with it. The orphanage didn't provide much for the children so in order to stay under the illusion that they had their own possessions there was an unspoken agreement that some children would be able to keep certain toys longer than most, and perhaps even sleep with the softer ones like Robbie.
Soon Cece returned with a dish of food. Once it was on the table he put his crayon down and proceeded to pick up and bite into a slice of apple. It was sweet and possibly one of the yummiest things he had tasted in a while. The boy couldn't remember when he last ate... He couldn't recall ever eating at all but was it possible for him to even live without food? He didn't think so but he never put much more thought into it as he was enjoying what the nice woman had made for him.
As he bit into a second piece of fruit he watched the motherly girl turn the lights on and move over to the radio. Walter hadn't noticed how dark it was in there but now, with the lights on to create contrast, he could see a big difference. He almost felt the need to squint his eyes so they could adjust. At the radio Cece messed around with a few CDs and momentarily played something strange. Really strange. It was enough to make the boy stop his eating to listen. It gave him flashbacks that he didn't think were his. The boy was seeing horrible and dark things through the eyes of a much taller man. These couldn't be his memories. Soon the weird noise was gone, taking with it the visions, and replaced with an upbeat children's CD. Despite the nicer music Walter didn't continue eating again until the woman settled down across from him.
He idly nodded in reply to her first question but actually spoke for her second, "I guess. I remember sleeping with a stuffed one when I was little..." Why did he say 'little?' Walter knew he was still a boy but, then again, few kids liked to see themselves as little. He only nodded again to her third inquiry though this time he was chewing on another piece of fruit. He swung his legs back and forth beneath his chair to indicate that he was enjoying but paused momentarily when a thought occurred to him; where was everybody? Wouldn't the doors be locked if Konami Burger were closed? Shy green eyes looked up at the woman, tinted with confusion and the blood from his visions, "Where is everyone?" The only people he had seen recently were those two men, Cece, and another girl but now even they were gone. He probably asked her a similar question back at the Wish House he felt uncomfortable about the idea of an empty town and had to ask again.

Cecilia listened to the young boy talk about his Robbie with a slight twinge in her heart. 'Pink... so this really isn't Jeremy...'
His eyes didn't seem frightened after the odd noise from the radio. His wide eyes from over the apple slice seemed full of confusion.
"Where is everyone?"
Cecilia put a fry in her mouth so she could think about it for a moment. "I'm not sure where they went. I think the city has been evacuated. I think we got left behind." She smiled and reached her hand across the table and put his on his arm. "Don't worry. I won't leave you behind."
Cecilia looked at the small toys and the drawing and felt the unfamiliar need to speak. She opened her mouth and more rambling came out as she began cutting up her salad.
"...I actually came back looking for my son. I am not from around here, sweetheart. I went to school near Ashfeild and we lived here in town for a little while in an apartment until my little boy was born. I'm here looking for him."
She smiled and chewed a forkful of the leafy concotion before completeing the thought.
"Instead, I found you."
