Poisedalong the empty bar, Maria let the ambiance of the purple and pink lights wash over her. It was late and she was alone. There was nothing save the bright lights and the darkness of the fog outside. Maybe it wasn't so late after all. No. It was too early to be late anymore. Maria sighed, swirling the contents of the glass in front of her while watching the delicate swish of the white liquid.
What was she really living for anyways?
To be a tool? Used and discarded by men? She'd always thought that it had been the other way around; she'd had power because of those men, money, wealth, beauty, you name it. It had all been hers. But how many of them had thought of her after she'd stop dancing? What did it matter anyways? All she could think about was him, James Sunderland.
Her fingers tightened around the drink, knuckles turning white as she felt the anger dip down into her heart. She wanted him to care, wanted him to see that she was nothing like that bitch Mary. She would never hurt him, not like Mary had. There was no reason he wouldn't choose her. Suddenly the raging crimson inside of her was gone and she was smiling.
In one triumphant movement she flicked the glass up to her lip's and downed it's contents.

Sam walked cautiously down the empty streets. She still wasn’t sure what was happening in Silent Hill. One minute she was fighting her way through the hospital alongside Lisa, and the next minute she was waking up in the middle of the road. When she awoke, she thought she was dreaming, but she looked down at her uniform and could see all the blood from one of the monsters that had attacked her. She broke into a clothing store that she used to go to all the time when she was a teenager and was surprised to find that all the clothes were gone except for one outfit. The outfit consisted of a tight fitting teal shirt, a black mini skirt, and a pair of black boots that went up to her mid calf. It wasn’t as practical as her FBI uniform, but it would just have to do, and she would try as hard as she could to not get blood on it.
As she walked down the street, she saw a message board that just stuck out. She walked over to it and saw that a picture was posted on it. It was another picture of her sister, except this time she was standing next to their mother and looked a little scared. The picture was apparently taken at the church that was run by The Order. The thought of her being in that church brought nothing but rage. She flipped the picture over and saw the word HURRY written on the back. As she held the picture, she noticed that mark of Samael tattooed on the back of her hands that her mother had forced her to get when she was still a kid.
She quickly stuffed the picture into her messenger bag and started to run. She didn’t know where she was running to, and it angered her. She had a map of the town, but it was no use, it seemed like the town was constantly changing. After a few more minutes of walking, she could start to see the shape of someone. “Hello?” She called out as she started running towards the shape. As she got closer, she noticed that the shape wasn’t human at all. The thing didn’t even have a face, and before she knew it, it was running towards her.
Sammy quickly fired off a couple shots into the monster, but it didn’t go down. She turned around to find even more of the monsters coming up behind her. She knew that she was outnumbered and didn’t have a chance of holding them off. She saw an empty alley and started to run towards it. The alley was full of doors all of them were locked. She continued to jiggle the doorknobs, until she actually found one that was open.
Sam shoved the door open and as she tried to shut it, one of the monsters put their hand in the doorway stopping it from shutting. The thing grabbed her arm and cut her arm. She let out a small scream as she pulled out her pistol from the holster strapped on her thigh and shot the arm causing it to go back outside. She quickly shoved the door shut, locked it, and put a few objects in front of it.
The monsters slammed at the door for a minute before stopping and leaving. Sam looked down at the crimson liquid that was trickling down her arm. She needed something to stop the bleeding, and walked in further to the building. She soon reached a bar, and saw someone who was actually human. “Hello.” She said cautiously as she walked up to the stranger.

From somewhere outside she could hear the sounds of someone running, the click click of their boots seemed unnerving. The door to Heaven's Night opened and Maria placed the glass down, handgun at her side and wondering if she should draw it. Nobody should be here so late, she thought that she'd locked that door... Maria turned her barstool back to the bar, it didn't matter, it wasn't James.
"Hello?" the voice called, a face following it through the rectangular opening by the stair way. She was of about the same height as Maria with short brown hair and captivating blue eyes. Had Maria's boss seen the girl he would have gladly offered her a job.
"The door wasn't locked? Strange," she said, turning back to the bottle of brandi in front of her, "want a glass?"
Something about her situation seemed unusual. How had she gotten here? What was she doing? Come to think of it, nothing made sense. There was no use fighting whatever fate had swept her into the air like a feather to the wind, she knew that much. The brandi wasn't exactly going to last forever either. Maria waited for a response from her new acquaintance, a smile on her face.
If she was going to hell, she might as well enjoy it, right?

Sam was surprised to see that the woman was actually human. She hadn’t seen much normal people since she’s arrived in Silent hill. She heard the woman say something about the door not being locked, but she didn’t really pay attention. She looked down at the cut on her arm and noticed that it was still bleeding. She scanned the bar area and saw a clean looking rag and grabbed it. Sam then heard the woman ask her if she would like a glass. She let out a confused looked wondering if she even knew what was happening in this town. “Actually, I would.” She said in an unemotional tone as she grabbed the bottle and poured a little on the wound. It burned a little, but it wasn’t the worst pain she’s gone through. Once the cut was sterilized she wrapped the rad tightly around the cut wincing only a little bit before letting out a small sigh of relief. The blood flow had slowed and would soon stop.
Sam looked back up at the woman in front of her and wondered how she could be so calm. Maybe the woman hadn’t seen any of the monsters. Or maybe none of it happened, maybe she was just going crazy. That would explain how she just woke up in the middle of the street, but it wouldn’t explain how she the blood stains and the cut on her arm. She had heard of cases where people actually imagine the craziest situations. “Have you seen anything um…unusual?” She asked in a curious tone as she took the bottle and poured herself a glass, and took a quick gulp. After the stuff she had seen or what she thought she had seen, she could use a drink.

Maria had gotten down from her tall barstool now, fingers intertwined as she stretched, revealing the indents of the small of her back and the small line that made up the beginning of her tattoo. This woman wasn't someone she'd seen. Maria studied her much like a cat stalking prey, though her intentions were only curiosity and not a tasty snack. Brandi dripped to the floor as the woman bandaged a rather unusual cut, sinking into the wood like blood.
"Unusual?" she asked, running her fingertips along the smooth surface of the bar, "can't say that I have. I've been in Heaven's Night all evening."
Evening was hardly the word but Maria couldn't find anything more descriptive of her current, well, situation. The bar was entirely dark save the pinkish purple light that drifted over the bar, its source was the slender figure of a woman posing. Maria stopped, resting her elbows on the bar for a second while she reached a conclusion about the girl.
"You aren't from around here, are you?" Maria asked, not waiting for an answer, "I work here and I think you are right, something is very, very wrong with this town. I can't quit place my fingertip on it though..."
Maria let her voice trail off, knowing why she was here, in this hell, looking for James. She had no idea that there would be others, an escape from her fate. Maybe there was a way to carve out her own destiny as well.

Sam looked up at the woman when she heard her say that she hasn’t really seen anything unusual and that she’s been in Heaven’s Night all evening. Maybe she was going crazy, and she was just imagining all the monsters at the hospital and out in the streets. Sam’s blue eyes looked back down at the glass she had poured for herself and brought it up to her lips, before taking another drink and emptying the glass. The liquid felt good as it slithered its way down her throat.
She started to examine the bar more closely and could see the strip pole. She had heard about this place when she was a teenager, but never really actually saw it before. Sammy looked back at the woman and figured that she must’ve been an employee here. After a few seconds of silence, she heard the woman speak up and figured that Sam wasn’t from Silent Hill. She then went on to say that she thought Sam was right and that something was very wrong with Silent Hill.
“Actually, I am from here.” Sam said her blue eyes staring straight at the woman. “Just haven’t lived here for ten years. The name’s Samantha Covenant. But you can call me Sam.” She said politely letting out a weak smile. Sam started to remember the picture of her sister that she had found earlier and reached in her messenger bag and pulled it out. “I’m sorry but have you seen this girl?” She asked sounding worried. “She’s my little sister…her name is Lily Snyder.” Sam said her eyes filled with worry.

Maria took the picture from Sam's fingertips lightly, as one would touch a crumpled doll. It was obvious to her that this woman had come to silent hill for a purpose much like James's, only her adventure was not overshadowed by lies. Painted pink nails glimmered as she held the photograph up to the light, eyes absorbing every detail within it as though it were another universe.
"Lily Snyder..." she let the name sink in, the girls face was unreadable to her but not entirely foreign, "I used to know a man by the name of Damian Snyder but he hasn't come to the Heaven's Night for a while."
She handed the photograph back to her newfound friend, resisting the urge to grab a cigarette from one of the packs in the drawer. Maria wasn't really into smoking but something about the eyes on the little girl, Lily, had flared the need for her to reach out and calm herself. Maria felt the shiver crawl down her spine, hairs standing on end, though she made sure it didn't show.
That girl had eyes just like her; eyes that didn't belong to herself.
"You can call me Maria, everyone else does," she said, this time there was no smile, only the pale complexion of her face against the redness of her lips and the blonde of her hair, soaked with a pink so red that it could be blood. Maria let her eyes wander around Heaven's Night. Something was different now, where she had once felt safeness there was only blackness and silence.

Sam waited anxiously for the woman’s answer praying that she had at least seen her little sister. After a few more seconds of waiting, she heard Maria repeat Lily’s name before telling her that she used to know Damian, but he hasn’t been around the place in awhile. Sam lightly scoffed as soon as she heard that Damian used to visit Heaven’s Night. Figures he would come here. She thought to herself. “Yeah, he’s my step-dad, and Lily’s father.” She said emphasizing the word step.
She still hadn’t told her if she had seen Lily yet, and Sam was getting more and more worried by the second. Sam then heard the woman tell her to call her Maria. There was a blank expression on Maria’s face, and it worried her. In that moment, she had reminded her of her mother Lucinda; Beautiful, yet cold and distant at the same time. There was something about Maria, but Sam just didn’t know what it was. “Please Maria. Tell me, have you seen my sister?” She asked in an almost pleading tone.
