Lisa's eyes sent her feelings coursing through Phillip. He followed her into the apartment lobby and closed the door behind him. She stood across from him, desperately pulling at the entrance door. "Step back, I'll try to break it down..." He kicked it below the handle as hard as he could two or three times. He knew if they did not get far away from here that the situation could quickly become a life or death ordeal. The door didn't budge. The room grew dark. The pair, looking into each others eyes, knew what was happening and knew that they were in trouble. The piercing siren began to wail, making Phillip's head pulse in pain. The walls and stairwell shifted. The already peeling wallpaper striped away and revealed blood stained concrete beneath. The stairs twisted into rusted metal. The exit door shook violently, the wood bending with every hit it took from whatever was coming for them. Phillip drew the crowbar from his pant loop, "Get behind me, Lisa. I'll stop it from hurting you." He put on a brave face, but beneath it he was terrified. He had seen many things since he came to this god-forsaken town. None of them were pleasant and he knew that the thing on the other side of the door wouldn't be anything less.
An echoing howl emanated from the other side and with one more hit the door slammed open, the frame splintering. A large dog stood in the doorway, it's yellowish-green rotting flesh torn open on its head from its attacks on the door. Its long, blood-red tongue drug the ground, saliva dripping to the floor. Its nails clicked against the floor as it rushed towards Phillip. Almost without thinking, he swung the crowbar and connected with the creatures temple. It yelped in pain as it was thrown slightly to the side from the blow, but it quickly recovered and growled with the sound of a cougar more than that of a canine. Phillip, both hands on the weapon, stabbed downward and pierced the creatures head, slamming it back to the floor. It struggled before finally bleeding out. Phillip stood, the crowbar now nailed to the floor, and exhaled heavily. He turned to Lisa and smiled. "Now, see?...Nothing to worry about." His victory was short-lived as the howl of the dog had attracted more. They ran through the courtyard toward the open door, their feet pounding against the paved walkway. Phillip turned and ran toward it, pushing the door shut and leaning against it to keep it barricaded. "Lisa! You have to find another way out!" The dogs hit against the door with great strength, almost knocking Phillip to the floor. He looked back to her, "Please hurry!" He realized he was too far away from his weapon to defend himself soon enough were the door to give way.

Howls erupted from the fog of the courtyard, followed each other in rounds. Lisa suddenly got the feeling of being surrounded by someone, something. Out of the fog one of the blood thirsty creatures charged, jowls covered in someone else's blood. The skin on the monsters was peeled back at the eyes and, where one mouth should have split vertical the openings were horizontal. Lisa resisted the urge to throw up at Phillip stood in front of her, crowbar raised.
"There are too many of them!" She yelled and they retreated back into the open door of the lobby. Lisa was well aware they had made the jump from 'normal' life to hell as the area around them was a rusted gray filled with various bloodied spots.
Phillips words hit her hard; she had to find a way, anything that would get them out of there. Crumpling up the paper, Lisa shoved it into her pocket with the photographs and made her way up the stairs. Doors lined the hallway that led to other levels but she couldn't find one that opened. Phillip tried to follow behind her but the creatures persisted.
Locked. She moved on to the right. Two doors left. Lisa giggled the handle, her motor skills seemed to be depleting under the incredible fear and stress she was under. Locked. One more and they would die. Lisa's fingertips grabbed the last door handle and she gave it a good yank. The door flung open and Lisa felt her heart skip like it was running a marathon. She turned to Phillip.
"This way! Come on!" without another word she pulled herself into the room, waiting for Phillip before she closed and bolted the door behind them.
Edit: I fixed the post so we're in the lobby =]

((Oh, i thought we ran back into the main lobby. Can you give me a map location of where we ran in to? I'm a bit lost sadly. )) Phillip ran with all he had into the room with Lisa. She bolted the door as he came through. They were both without any means to defend themselves now. Phillip sat on the floor, breathing heavily, "What are we going to do now?" He posed the question to himself as well as her. The monsters he had fought before only came one at a time and weren't nearly as fast. He caught his breath and stood. "Okay," he looked around the dimly lit room, "maybe there's something in here we can use or another way out..." He could hear the two remaining dogs sniffing around outside the door. They were looking for them. Phillip looked at Lisa, he couldn't hold the fear back any longer from showing in his face. He whispered, "We need to be as quiet as possible and stay away from the door. Maybe they won't find us in here."

"Weneed to get out of this room, I know it's just a storage closet but maybe we can find a way into one of the other apartment rooms?" Lisa whispered, listening to the click click of nails on tiles.
Would it really matter if they could get out of this room? There would be dogs all over the place in the hallway anyways. Lisa was beginning to wonder if a weapon might have been a better choice for her and her companion than an escape route. Sadly her eyes skimmed the closet for something worth while but all she could see was a bunch of boxes. Big, green, frightened eyes stared at Phillip as she thought about what to do.
"Maybe we should move that shelf in front of the door?" she indicated a large metal shelf filled with various boxes.
Who needed all those boxes anyways? And what were those creatures? They hadn't been any kind of dog she knew... but like before Lisa knew that things were changing for the worst. Someone had given her her answers but the cost might have been too great. Next time it rained she was just going to stay in the rain and get wet. Forget about keeping dry in this place.

"Yeah..." Phillip squared off with one of the shelves, determining how to go about getting it over to the door, "that's probably a good idea." As he began to shift the shelf over, a flashlight rolled off of it and fell to the floor, clicking on. It rolled behind the shelf and into a large hole in the wall that was hidden before. He whispered to Lisa, "Hey there's something back here." He moved the shelf a bit farther away from the wall and knelt down to pick up the flashlight. He shined the light into the hole, hoping it would be a way out of this room. The light glistened on the damp walls. "I think it leads into the next room....an apartment I think." He stood and turned towards her, the discovery returning the smile to his face. "Ladies first."

Ladies first. Somehow the phrase was not as nicely used as it had originally been and Lisa found herself wishing that ladies didn't have to go first. Picking up the small scope light that she had been given by Samantha, Lisa shined the light into the tunnel. It looked like a major piping unit even though she knew it was just rafters of some sort. Still Lisa found it hard to take that first step forwards.
The walls were cramped and almost claustrophobic as though this passage way were secret and not allowed to take up that much space. She could hear the shuffle of Phillip's feet behind her as he continued to walk. Had Lisa been anyone else she might have been afraid to have a stranger at her back but Lisa trusted people; she knew there was good in almost everyone. The tunnel dipped around to the right and Lisa cautiously moved around the corner. Where could this damn closet be going?
"Hope we don't get lost in here," she semi joked, voice being swallowed up by the woods around them

The tunnel was humid and rather warm, steam seemed to ooze from cracks in the walls. Lisa was in front of Phillip, both of their flashlights darting this way and that. They didn't know what to expect from this secret exit route. "So Lisa..." he tried to break the tension, "you having fun yet?" Before she could turn to give a response, the siren began to wail again and the floor gave out from beneath them.
They fell to the floor below, a thick cloud of dusty surrounded them. Phillip coughed, "Cuz I know I'm having a blast....Ow, my ass...." He stood and helped Lisa to her feet. The dust settled and they could see they were now in one of the apartment hallways. The world had changed back to the dull, misty one. "Wait....weren't we on the first floor?" Phillip shined his flashlight around the hallway and next to a stairwell door was a sign that read '3rd Floor'. He looked at Lisa with a confused expression. "How did we get up here?"
Phillip walked over to the door and pushed against it. He turned to Lisa, "It's locked." The hallway had several doors. The air was very stale and had the odor of mildew. Somehow they had ended up back in the main building. A sound pierced the darkness. The sound of a door creaking open. Phillip turned his flashlight toward the noise at the end of the hall. A door, not to a room but at the very end of the hall, had cracked open slightly. He walked over to it and cautiously opened it. Another building...a window....no more than a step from the doorway. "What the hell?..."

Lisa knew that the floor was soaked with some ominous greenish liquid but she assumed it was just mold and that the surface was as stable as possible. She had been very wrong. Her heel hit the floor with a flimsy whoosh and suddenly the building around them had collapsed and they fell into darkness. Meldew choked her as she tried to breathe, clinging at the inside of her lungs like some sort of toxin. Lisa tried to breathe but a familiar sound bellowed in her ears.
It was the siren.
She sunk to the ground, trying to find her way to Phillip who seemed very much unfazed by the occurrence of the floor giving out. Lisa could feel that something was wrong with her body. Blood dripped from her mouth as though she had been a smoker for years or a tuberculosis patient. Lisa felt as though she had just overdosed on something. That something... white claudia. It was white claudia!
"Phillip..." she tried to say but the thin line of crimson made her words impossible.
Blackness over took her, the sound of the siren blaring made everything seem like it had come from the nightmare. She knew that she was no longer with Phillip, she was dying, wasn't she? Lisa closed her eyes and let the siren envelope her. What was going on? Was she really? Nothing seemed clear other than the blackness that devoured her completely.
[[ooc: thread's getting a bit hefty, I figured we could end it here and have them meet up elsewhere?]]

Phillip turned to Lisa but she was nowhere to be seen. He lifted his flashlight and shined it down the dark hallway. "Lisa?" As the words left his lips a strange force, like a strong wind, blew him through the doorway and into the apartment window across from it, slamming the door shut as the went through.
((Phillip has left the thread))
